Quality audio performance with premium preamps
The emphasis with the Soundcraft EPM Series is very firmly on quality audio performance, with an easy-to-understand software controller uncluttered by unnecessary features. The EPM8 features Soundcraft's premium GB30 microphone preamp (as used on the large-format LX7ii and GB Series desks) to provide high headroom and precision control of microphone signals.

Balanced inputs with inserts
Mic and line inputs are provided on balanced XLR and 1/4" jack connectors, with the main stereo outputs on balanced XLRs for best integration with other professional equipment. There are also insert points on every mono channel and the mix outputs for external signal processing.

Unique Peak LEDs monitor the entire signal path
Because levels are constantly changing throughout the signal path - from the preamp stage, through filtering and EQ - the EPM mixers provide peak LEDs on all input channels. These monitoring LEDs are fed from multiple points in the signal path to ensure nothing is overlooked. The LEDs also employ proportional illumination to show signal level when approaching peaks, allowing you to maximize the quality of any signal by utilizing all the available headroom. The main stereo mix has 10-segment LED meters, with a PFL Active
indicator to show whether any channels are being soloed.

Soundcraft have unveiled another addition to the rapidly growing new Soundcraft family, the multi-format low-cost EPM mixers. The emphasis with the Soundcraft EPM is very firmly on quality build and audio performance, with an easy to understand software controller uncluttered by unnecessary facilities, and Soundcraft have brought new technologies and ideas to this very cost-effective range. Surface mount technology is used throughout, using close-tolerance components for high accuracy and repeatable settings for EQ and gain controls. The highly-transparent GB30 Mic amp (designed by Graham Blyth for the company's 30th anniversary, and also used on the larger LX7ii and GB Series consoles) features high-resolution adjustment over a wide gain range of 55dB, and provides a stunning +22dB headroom through the console. True professional 48-volt phantom power caters for condenser microphones of all types.

A unique feature of the signal monitoring is the PEAK led. This uses multipoint signal take-offs to watch for overload in several parts of the channel strip, and the led lights more brightly as the signal approaches the peak point. For smooth and accurate channel control, the EPM has 60mm high quality faders as used on other Soundcraft desks. The monitor output and headphone output work in parallel so that performers can still listen on phones while an engineer is listening on studio monitors.

ABOUT SOUNDCRAFT:
Founded in 1973, Soundcraft first made its mark with the launch of the Series 1, the first mixing console in a flightcase. Back in the early 70's, the music touring business was just beginning - and the transportable mixing desk quickly became popular among the bands and the new PA companies that were springing up to rent out sound equipment.

From what was then a small company in central London, Soundcraft expanded and started to diversify. The company designed a mixer for recording - the Series 2 - and began to build a reputation for great-sounding desks, which is often referred to as the favoured 'British Sound'.

Design and innovation has always been one of Soundcraft's major strengths. Over the years it has introduced a number of industry-favoured consoles such as the Series 4, 2400, TS24, 8000, 200B, 6000, Delta, SAC200 and the Spirit Folio range, and more recently the Series FIVE, Broadway, GB Series, MH series, Vi Series and the Si Series.
