In a side by side test with the QSC-5050 ($1599.00 MAP) the SPYN SRX-3300 ($1079.00 MAP) out powered and out performed the QSC unit hands down, not even close according to the store owner.
When compared with the CROWN MACROTECH 5002 ($2533.00 MAP) and the CREST CA-18 ($3000.00 MAP) they were equal in output and performance level. These are both world class touring amplifiers and the SPYN performed equally.
Several PHONIC models were tested against the SPYN SRX-2700 ($769.00 MAP) but there was no comparison, the Phonic units were like toys compared to the SPYN products.
Top Audio has purchased and sold through 2 shipments worth of SPYN Amplifiers and has the EX-825 enhancer and the EFD-814 EQ’s on order as well. His customers are now asking for the SPYN products by name.
TEST #1:
WITH A QSC RMX 5050 ALREADY SITTING ON THE COUNTER WAITING TO BE TENDERED...JOHN KIM ASKED THE CUSTOMER IF HE WAS INTERESTED IN AN AMP WITH TWICE THE POWER AT THE SAME PRICE?
HE (JOHN) THEN PROCEEDED TO PLUG IN THE SRX 3300 WE HAD JUST DELIVERED AND SET IT AT 11 O'CLOCK ONLY, WITH THE SENSITIVITY ON 1.44 VOLTS.
AFTER SHAKING HALF THE MERCHANDISE OFF OF THE WALLS BY DRIVING 4X SELENIUM 18 SWS 1000 SUB CABS, THE CUSTOMER SAID ..."WRAP IT UP, I'LL TAKE IT!!!
TEST #2:
CREST CD-3000 ($1349.00 MAP) was compared to the SPYN SRX-2700 ($769.00 MAP) driving CREST subs and tops at 4 ohms. The SPYN was set at about 60-65% of maximum volume and it out performed the Crest by about 30%.
If you check the 4 ohm specs on both of these models you will find that the Crest is rated at 1500 watts stereo and the SRX-2700 is only 900 watts stereo, yet it still outperformed the Crest by 30% without being turned all the way up.
This test was independently performed by Rob Conde from Island Music who does not sell our products because he is a competitor in the Islands and South America. He has no vested interest in our products or our company.
TEST #3:
The SRX-3300 was tested side by side on a 20 amp circuit (unit is a 30 amp draw) against the DYNACORD XA-4000 (2500.00 MAP) the store owner claimed that both products peaked and clipped simultaneously. After seeing this he refused to test against the QSC-5050 fearing what the results would be. He is a huge QSC dealer with a huge discount but passed on the comparison…I wonder why?
TEST #4:
Performed by store pro audio sales person George Koerber at Sam Ash, side by side comparisons were made with QSC and SAMSON models that matched closely in the printed specs. There was no processing used, just an A-B switcher.
Comparisons were as follows:
• SPYN SRX-3300 VS QSC RMX-5050
• SPYN SRX-2700 VS SAMSON SX-3200 VS QSC RMX-4050
• SPYN SR-1600 VS SAMSON SX 2400
• SPYN DJ-1350 VS QSC RMX 2450
George, who has well over 20 years experience in pro audio, including touring, studio and retail was “astounded at the difference of superior output and sound quality of the SPYN amplifiers compared to the other brands”.
*****It should be noted that all of the SPYN amps were run at approximately the 10 o’clock position on the gain controls to match the output level of the equally rated amps from the competition.

ABOUT SPYN AUDIO:
Welcome to the world of SPYN, a company comprised of live audio engineers, DJs and working musicians with one common goal in mind—to create rock solid, high quality audio gear that will exceed performance expectations at price points that are easy to afford.
SPYN manufactures power amplifiers and outboard gear that is well built, easy to use and
affordable- three things they have learned to be of paramount importance from their research
working with the locals. DJ SAMA, a radio, mobile and club DJ and recording artist with about
20 years experience in the Miami market said “Not everyone needs menu based; computer
driven gear to get the job done. In fact, that type of gear tends to confuse many club owners,
DJ's and musicians who are not audio engineers”. “Instead, I prefer good basic designs that
perform consistently well and won't break down in the heat”.
SPYN is based in South Florida; a virtual Mecca of nightclubs, sound companies, amusement parks, working DJs, musicians and houses of worship. When it came time to design our line, we surveyed these markets and gathered input from a team of field engineers who taught us a lot about what a product line should offer—ease of use, durability, reliability and most of all, VALUE.
