ECLECTIC BREAKS PRO X FADE II CROSSFADER
THE PRO X FADE II (PXF-II) is aimed at every DJ mixer on the market that is not currently compatible with the PRO X FADE due to size. Many Pioneer mixers to benefit from this fader i.e. 500/600 NOT 707 or 909.
It's a miniaturised version of the PXF but with slight adjustments such as having our new multi mixer wiring loom which allows easy connection to a variety of connectors which does away with the need to modify the wiring. We're also working on a multi plate for the top plate.
When it was launched at PLASA in 2005, the fully adjustable analogue Ebsel Pro-X-Fade crossfader set new industry standards. The company is expecting considerable interest when it exhibits prototypes for the new Pro-X-Fade II, a miniature version of the former, at the forthcoming Winter NAMM Show.
Designed to retrofit all existing mixers on the market not currently compatible with the original Pro-X-Fade, this along with the new PXF line faders are expected to go into production later in 2007.
Ebsel is also considering releasing a limited edition Pro-X-Fade package that would include a complete set of 3 faders, 2 line faders and accompanying crossfader.
Frustrated with the products being offered on the market, professional DJ company, Eclectic Breaks, has developed what it believes is the world’s most advanced ‘DJ friendly’ analogue crossfader. Not only does the retrofitting EB Pro-X-Fade crossfader utilise 100% conductive plastic tracks for longer fader life, it allows DJ’s to physically change the feel of the fader to suit their particular needs. By employing the easily accessible cut-in rotaries, the DJ can also alter the cut-in point to provide an instant on/off switch feel, or gradual volume increase mode. PRO X FADE II FAQ:
1.0 What is the Pro-X-Fade FAQ?
This document (Frequently Asked Questions) has been written to address many of the most common questions asked about the new Pro-X-Fade crossfader designed by Eclectic Breaks.
2.0 So, Who Are Eclectic Breaks?
A true product of sound system culture, Eclectic Breaks brings a fresh, professional approach to the music industry. An all-in-one urban music brand which encompasses our Record Label, Club Promotions and Marketing Division, Production House, Design Department, Consultancy, DJ Tuition and of course, Merchandising.
3.0 What is the Pro-X-Fade?
Simply, the Pro-X-Fade is the ultimate in analogue crossfader technology for use in your audio DJ Mixer. (It's an electronic component which allows the DJ to fade out the sound from one audio source to another)
4.0 Why did Eclectic Breaks build the Pro-X-Fade?
Eclectic Breaks, became increasingly frustrated with manufacturers ripping off DJ's; So they took matters into their own hands and created the most advanced and DJ-focused analogue crossfader in the world. Tapping into our extensive experience and involvement with the professional DJ industry, this 3rd generation fader has the sole purpose of addressing the real issues faced by the new wave of professional DJ's today. Without incorporating complicated and incompatible electronics or using inferior materials, our goal is to provide the DJ with the Rolls-Royce of faders at a realistic price.
5.0 What is the stroke width of the crossfader?
45mm. (Which is the standard on most mixers)
6.0 How wide is the Pro-X-Fade's stem because I keep snapping mine?
The fader stem has been manufactured to be double the width of most other crossfaders (the standard is only 4mm wide) so you have a solid 8mm built-like-a-tank fader stem built from quality tough steel.
8.0 What type of material do you use for the tracks on the crossfader?
The first generation of analogue crossfaders that came out in DJ mixers used carbon-based compounds which were prone to wearing down and causing a bleeding of the sound in the wrong channel . The second generation of analogue crossfaders use a combination of carbon and a new type of Plastic-based conductive material which wears down a lot less and makes the crossfader last a lot longer, but the carbon elements will still wear away after time. The new 3rd Generation Pro-X-Fade is the first ever crossfader/potentiometer which uses 100% Plastic Conductive material which has a much, much longer life due to the missing carbon element.
9.0 What new features does the Pro-X-Fade incorporate?
A simple run-down of the features is as follows:
Advanced 100% Conductive Plastic Technology
Tension Torque Control
Customisable Cut-in Point (Lag time)
Inter-changeable Mixer Interface
Distinguishable Fader Knob
Double Wide Fader Stem

This is one of our future developments with the Pro-X-Fade, but at the moment it just the crossfader.
17.0 What research have you done for the Pro-X-Fade?
The fader benefits from two years of research and development with one whole years full road testing. Having spoken with engineers, developers, manufacturers, retailers, DJ's, salesmen, production staff; marketing people, and even presidents of companies, we are confident this is the worlds best analogue crossfader.
18.0 So why don't I just buy one these new digital faders instead?
Firstly we wanted to provide a fader which would be flexible and versatile enough to work with most DJ's mixers, digital faders lack versatility and in reality, the digital crossfaders are just not up to the task yet.
It took the music production industry nearly 15 years to get up to a point where the digital world had the same sort of audio quality as its analogue rivals. Basically one of the main reasons we didn't go down the digital route was because these new technologies have yet to be fully tried and tested in the real DJ environments. It's all well and good for companies to test in labs with a sewing machine but put it in the hands of real DJ's and as many have found out at a high price...this new technology has failed them.

Eclectic Breaks, a London based Pro DJ company, has developed what it believes to be the world's most advanced, customizable, analog crossfader. "Our goal is to provide the DJ with the Rolls-Royce of faders at a realistic price," explains DJ Siya, Founder and Director of Eclectic Breaks.

“When I first started DJing, we had to do all kinds of crazy things to get our faders to feel right. It's amazing that a fader is coming out that's so customizable, giving DJ’s more options and letting them make it feel the way they're most comfortable with. ”—Rob Swift (formerly of the X-Ecutioners)
“This fader is incredible! Totally smooth, adjustable tension. It's all you could want from a fader.”—Infamous (Allies): 2000 ITF Beat Juggling World Champion, DMC and ITF Team Champion
“Damn this fader is sick. Can I get one to put in all my mixers?” J-Smoke (Allies): —1999 DMC World Team Champion.
“It's great that DJs, like any other musicians, now have alternatives. A feature like adjustable tension is a great step towards providing the type of alternatives we need."—A-Trak (Allies): 5x World Champion & DJ for Kanye West.
“This idea is real cool. A universal fader that you can adjust the tension on? It's perfect for anybody unhappy with what's in their mixer, and the right direction for DJing. Letting us make our instruments be the way we want them to.”—DJ Big Wiz (Def Jux/Steel Workerz)
